Did you know that you can renew your books and manage your account
online? Just click on the link at the top of this page to visit our online
catalog. Click on "begin search" and then "my account." This will bring
up a log-in window. Type in the bar-code number on the back of your
library card in the "account number" space and then your "PIN"
number. If you don't have a "PIN" number, you will need to call the
library to set one up. Once you have logged in you will be able to see
what items you have checked out, and their due dates. If you need help
call the library. We will be happy to assist you.

We receive new donations almost daily so the shelves get new
materials continually. There is something for everyone!

Need to renew an item or manage your account? Click on the "Visit Our

account." Enter your username (this is your barcode number from the
back of your library card) and password. If you haven't set up a
password yet, call the library and we will be happy to set that up for
you. When entering your barcode number include all numbers or
characters but do not include spaces. If you need help, give us a call we
will be happy to assist you.
CHECKING YOUR ACCOUNT STATUS
The Dowling Public Library has expanded its services with audiobooks and
eBooks, available to download from the library's website. Library card holders
can check out and download digital media anytime, anywhere.
Users may browse the library's website, check out with a valid library card,
and download to computer, mobile devise, Kindle, iPod, iPad, and other
ereaders and compatible devices. Users will need to install free software.
Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices. Some
audio titles can also be burned to CD to listen on-the-go. Titles will
automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees!

START AN ADVENTURE!
Explore 1000 Books! A program for families with
children, birth through preschool. This free program
encourages you to read 1000 books with your child
before he or she enters school- a goal experts say
children need to help them learn to read for themselves.
Our kick off date is May 7, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m..
Bring your child/children to the library and register
them. They will receive a record book to keep track of
the books you read and you will receive a special gift for
joining us for our kick off. If you can't make the kick off
day, you may register at any time. Just stop by the
TIMES & LOCATION:
Monday, November 17, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the library.

PRE-REGISTER AND PREPAY
DEADLINE: November 14, 2014
Card making product is cut and prepared before each class, so you must
register and pay prior to the class. There are no refunds. If you pay for
the class and are unable to attend, Kris will make sure you receive your
kit. If you want the images stamped and your kit prepared for assembly,
there will be an additional cost of $5.00. These classes fill up quickly.
Each class is limited to 8. Come join the fun!
We will be opening up the basement for anyone wishing to browse the books
for sale. Anytime the library is open, just let the staff know that you would
like to go down to the sale and they will be happy to assist you.

|We are making Christmas cards and gifts! This is the gift we will be making in our November
class! It's a tin filled with Hershey nuggets. We will also make 6 Christmas cards.
Books are Treasures at the Dowling Public Library!
This is the theme for the library's Winter Reading program which
runs from October 22, through February 20, 2015.. The program is
for ages 5 to 15. There are treasure chests full of prizes. Read 1 book
a week or 4 books a month. For each 4 books you read (must be age
appropriate) you can choose a prize from one of the treasure chests
for a total of 4 prizes. And you can place a gem on your treasure map
to watch your progress. For each book you read you can place a gem
with your name on it into the treasure chest for the grand prize
drawing. (You can place your name in a total of 16 times!) Stop by
the library to find out all the details! The grand prize is a new bicycle!
